This is the website of Mark Anderson
All my life I have been playing, arranging, and composing guitar music. I am voracious for ragtime piano pieces, keyboard suites, preludes and fugues, bebop lines, delta blues, classic jazz, and solo cello. I love trying to coax new sounds out of an old acoustic fretboard. Now I am committed to mastering, recording, and sharing this music, as well as posting the tablature so others can give these pieces a try. It will take me a while to have high quality recordings of all 36 pieces on this site but you are free to listen to the drafts. Meanwhile I will be translating the illegible scratching in my many music notebooks into to sharable PDFs with the tablature for each piece. Let me know if there is one that interests you.

In literature, translation is said to be the artistic process of preserving the original text’s tone, style, and meaning, while re-creating it to resonate naturally in a new language.
In music, an arrangement should likewise retain the spirit of the original composition be it for piano, cello, or combo while showcasing the tone, resonance, and unique qualities of the new instrument, in this case an acoustic guitar.
In this spirit, I have tried to craft each arrangement here for resonance and rhythm. The recordings are live and made with just a single microphone. Join me in exploring the joy of music through these challenging but fun-to-play pieces.
